meet lindsey

Hey there! My name is Lindsey and I would like to welcome you to Knead to Nosh! I’ve always wanted to start a blog and I figured what better time to start this shindig than now?! I’ve been cooking, baking, and creating recipes and art more than ever and I can’t wait to share it all with you.

Now you must be wondering how the name Knead to Nosh came to be! You see, well, after a list of 100+ names (Boho Bites, Dough & Design, Thyme to Create; just to name a few) and many nights and showers interrupted by ideas, it finally clicked. One of my favorite things to bake (and eat!) is bread and as a proud, Jewish woman, noshing is in my blood. So there you go; Knead to Nosh!

Here are 12 things you knead to know about me:

1. I am a middle school 3D art teacher and absolutely love what I do. To say every day is a new adventure is an understatement.

2. I am married to the love of my life and favorite weirdo, Elliot. We have been together for 7 years and got married in November 2021!

3. My family is the most important thing in my life and who I love to share my cooking with the most. They are my taste testers and best critics. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.

4. Elliot and I have a silly, cuddly cat named Marshmallow. She is around 13 years old and is loved dearly.

5. I love Broadway and musical theatre. My favorites are RENT and Wicked! You can always find me singing and dancing in the kitchen.

6. I have always had a passion for food. I spent a lot of time with my Dad in the kitchen growing up and my paternal Grandmother (who I call Nanny) inspired a lot of my baking. I love to go on trips and find cool and interesting eateries to explore. My favorite cuisines are Italian and Mexican. I have a love for all things spicy!

7. My vintage Pyrex and KitchenAid stand mixer are my BFFs in the kitchen. They spark a lot of joy.

8. My favorite art medium to work with is clay. Sculpting, crafting, and photography are my other creative outlets.

9. I love indoor rock climbing and stationary cycling. If I’m not in the kitchen or making art, you’ll find me on the bike or in the rock gym.

10. My favorite Jewish foods are challah, bagels, matzoh ball soup, latkes, and broccoli noodle kuegel.

11. I love pizza and ice cream! My favorite pizza toppings are pepperoni and eggplant. I like any ice cream that has peanut butter in it in some way, shape, or form. My favorite ice cream place is Hoffman’s at the Jersey Shore (peanut butter nugget is my fave!!).

12. The beach is my happy place. I look forward to Summer days soaking up the sun with my family and friends.

At the end of the day, all I want to do is share some creativity with the world. I want to cook, bake, and make art and have a space to share it, so that’s what this blog will be. I look forward to bringing happiness to those who visit.

Special shout-out to my brother, Alex, for the amazing food photography and videography throughout this blog! I could not have done this without him.
